Royal Enfield Bullet: The Story of Living Legend

Royal Enfield Bullet, a name, a brand, a bike, a legacy or should i say a legend?

For many of us it is not more than a bike which looks like some sort of an old school machine. But for RE fans, it is more than just a bike.

It is their dream

It is their destiny

It is their heartbeat

May be more than that for some

But the thing which is common in all is

Dhak Dhak.

The feeling which comes when you swing a leg on Royal Enfield Bullet is cannot be translated into words.

Once you kick start the bullet (we have self start now) it feels like your heart is connected to the engine and the sound of exhaust is your heartbeat.

The feeling you get while riding a bullet is just simply awesome or more than that.
By just hearing exhaust sound, you cannot distinguish between premium sports bikes but you can easily recognize a bullet miles away just by listening the exhaust note.

The tone may be annoying for some people but the truth is that it feels like a Royal ride.

You cannot ignore the sound of the Bullet.

Now let’s talk about the brand and the offerings.

History

Having its origin in England, the first Royal Enfield Bullet was build in 1901. The design and production was totally built by Royal Enfield.

It is the oldest design in the two wheeler industry. It was used by armies in both First and Second World War.

It was launched in India in 1949 and was first used as an army vehicle. It is on e of the main reason of the fan following of the Bullet in India.

Being used by the Indian army it develops an image in the mind of people that this bike is robust and can go anywhere.

After that the Enfield India plant was setup in Chennai in 1955 and was acquired by Eicher Group in 1994 as Royal Enfield Motors. That was the begining of the Bullet Era in India.

At first, buyers of bullet were tall men with a strong physique. But now, everyone is buying the bullet. Even those who can not lift the bike if it falls. Not to forget the addition of self start otherwise the back kick of the bullet was so strong that it could break the leg.
